The Lip Product Addict Tag

There has been a lot of this tag going around recently with some of my favourite youtubers offering up what are some of their best videos. This tag was started by two of my personal favourites essiebutton and Amelia Liana, and has had responses from lots of other youtubers including two more of my favourites  ViviannaDoesMakeup  and velvetgh0st . So I thought I would give it a whirl but in blogging form.

Lip Products are by far my favourite makeup items and are the item that I own lots off! First off above is an overview of all the products I am going to talk about. Warning, this is probably only half my collection!

Favourite balm/treatment?  Choosing just one balm and treatment is really hard for me so I have been cheeky and picked two. My first is a lip treatment from LUSH. Bubblegum Lip Scrub is a must for any beauty blogger. The pot is so cute and the product smells amazing and it even tastes of bubblegum meaning you may have to apply another coat if you find yourself licking it off! This lip scrub helps to exfoliate and smooth out your lips and remove any dead skin leaving them prepped and primed for a slick application of lipstick or gloss. My second offering is the CARMEX Lime Twist Moisturizing Lip Balm. Yet again another one that tastes and smells amazing! Easy to carry around in you bag and perfect to apply during the day when the British weather takes its toll on your skin.

Best eye-catching red? To achieve my most eye-catching red I use three products, two glosses and one lipstick – they are all pigmented enough to use on their own however you can also use them together. The first is Tanya Burr Collection Lipgloss in Heart Skipped a Beat. This super strong red glittery lip-gloss is perfect for parties or nights out. The finish is perfect and super glossy which adds glamour to any outfit. My second gloss is the Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D in Red Carpet Glam. This is similar to the Tanya Burr lipgloss in that it is a super strong colour on its own and it is also shimmery. My final red lip staple is Maxfactor Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday 715 which provides the perfect statement lip. This was one of the first lipstick’s I ever bought and is also really good at keeping your lips conditioned throughout the day.

Best luxury?  I don’t own many high-end lipsticks but I do really like the Clarins Jolie Rouge in Petal Pink . It is my staple every day lipstick and has been repurchased time and time again. These lipsticks are long-lasting and keep your lips moisturized throughout the day.

Best drugstore? Most of my lip products are from the drugstore so this was a hard choice for me but I think I have to go with the Maybelline Color-sensational Lipstick in 338 Midnight Plum. This is a fantastic dark and vampy lip colour and the dark purple is a perfect colour for the winter. It is such a statement lip which requires minimal makeup elsewhere on your face to achieve a flawless look.

Best Mac lipstick? Only recently has a MAC store opened up near to me so I have only started to explore the different makeup the MAC offers however I do own two MAC lipsticks one a bright orange colour which I have yet to try and pull off and this little beauty which is my best mac lipstick choice. Creme Cup is a beauty blogger favourite and this girl is no exception, the perfect nude colour and flawless finish it really is one of the best lipsticks that I own.

Most disappointing? This was a really hard question as there aren’t any of my products that I really dislike however this product is one raved about and I am yet to find myself really liking it. The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Kate Moss Lipstick in 107  has a brilliant formula but when I wear it I can’t help but think that it might be just a bit dark for me.

Lipliner, yes or no? I will say no for this question I only own these two from MAC but hardly ever wear them. I think liners are good at defining your lips if you are using a nude shade however I rarely bother.

Best gloss? By far the best lip gloss that I own is Tanya Burr Collection Lipgloss in Exotic Island. This is a lovely dark pink/purple shimmery lip gloss which is super pigmented and perfect just on its own without anything else accompanying it. The packaging is super cute  and the applicator is easy to use.

Something extra? My something extra is a purchase that I recently made in the States. As you can probably tell from the various products I have displayed so far I am a fan of shimmery and glittery products and this is no exception. This is the Kat Von D Foiled love lipstick  in Valentine. It’s a metallic hot pink with glitter. Sounds over the top and very statement but it is so easy to wear on a day-to-day basis. I have been wearing it to work recently to add a pop of colour to my makeup. Application is really easy and the packaging is lovely.

Well that’s it for my lip addict tag I hope that I have inspired you to go out and purchase some of these lovely products. Let me know in the comments below what your must have lip products are?
