MIC:FIT – The Review

81PyY49ibML._SL1500_Since the start of the New Year I have been researching ways of getting fit. Youtube videos, gym memberships, instagram pages. You name it, I’ve looked at it. I had never owned a fitness DVD before and thought this was a perfect time to take one for a test drive.

I was in Superdrug with my friend one day and showed it to her almost as a joke but she bought it! After using it for a couple of days and raving about it, I decided to buy it for myself and see if it lives up to expectations.

MIC: FIT is the Made in Chelsea workout DVD consisting of 4 very different workout routines. Each routine is lead by a different trainer and is accompanied by two of the MIC cast. The cast involved are: Binky Felstead, Oliver Proudlock, Spencer Matthews and Lucy Watson.

Each workout is explained clearly and concisely by the trainer and you are given two options to work at: Easy or Hard. The Easier options are shown by either Lucy or Binky whilst the guys give you the slightly more advanced routine. I tend to swap and change between the two depending on the difficulty of the exercise.

Here is a quick lowdown on each of these 20 minute fun fitness routines:

Toned In Time for St Tropez – This is suggested by Watson as the perfect way to get a toned bikini ready body. Watson and Matthews team up with Lisa Welham to show you a workout that is all about using nothing but your body weight. The perfect mix of cardio and muscle training exercises to get your heart rate rising and burning fat.

Tabata Wake Up Call – Felstead shares her favourite workout routine with Proudlock and fitness trainer Lee Constantino. This is a four minute intensity workout using a few exercises on repeat. This one is quite hard at first but you will definitely get used to it the more you do it. One for burning a lot of calories in a short space of time.

HIIT The Kings Road – Matthews shows us this High Interval training routine with the help of of Felstead and trainer James Stark. This will definitely get you working up a sweat. This is the one I find the toughest to complete. This routine is designed to all part of your body by alternating periods of short, intense exercise with less intense recovery periods usually jogging or squats.

Chelsea Morning Power Stretch – Proudlock is the final Chelsea star to introduce us to his favourite fitness routine. This is slightly less intense than the other workouts and is a yoga/pilates inspired workout which focuses on core strength and stability.

Bonus Features: All the best DVD’s have bonus features and this is not exception. Bonus features include behind the scenes of the shoot, a DVD commentary and a guide to gym etiquette.

Although I was sceptical at first I am really enjoying this DVD. This is a fun, easy to do at home fitness helper which is good value for money. A class can cost up to £5 so at £9,99 this DVD is a steal which you can use over and over again.
