On Thursday 23rd of April I attended the exclusive Clarins event, at Debenhams in Winchester, for Winchester Fashion Week. Billed as an “exclusive event that will showcase the world of Clarins and share a wealth of hints and tips to follow when using these must-have products”.
The evening started off in the Debenhams cafe with some nibbles and drinks and some chat on all things beauty. The event started with us being split into 3 groups – with each group being told about a different range from Clarins.
The first range I was told about was the HydraQuench range which is perfect for dehydrated skin. The active ingredient of Katafray helps to reinforce the skins natural barrier to rehydrate the skin. There was 9 products in this range, all of which have different properties ranging from thick creams to lightweight lotions and serums. The lip-balms are super hydrating and are made with Rose Wax which has a lovely scent.
Now it’s time to talk makeup! Next up was a talk about some new editions the make-up range which are being released on Sunday. They showcased two gorgeous cream-powder eyeshadows to add to their already existing range of Iridescent Shadows. This product has some incredible pigmentation and shimmer. The product includes bamboo powder which makes the product more long lasting. I will definitely be purchasing the new Aquatic Rose shade when it’s released! Another new edition to the range is some more Instant Light lip perfectors. There are 6 new shades to be released and this time they are in the shape of a balm stick. The six colour include: My Pink which is an adaptive formula which means you’ll get your very own pink shade!
Now lets talk about the Clarins Summer range. There is a stunning bronzer with a mixture of matte shades in a huge compact with a great mirror. There is two more editions to the instant light radiance boosters perfect for people who are a little darker after the tanning season starts. There is also the Clarins After Sun Shimmer Oil which is designed to give your skin the healthy looking sun kissed glow!
Next we moved on to suncare products and tanning products. Bloggers always rave about Clarins Tanning products and as someone who rarely gets a tan it was quite nice to have a look. In terms of suncare there is a few new releases I already own the factor 40 UV plus small bottle of under makeup suncream but there are some great thicker alternatives for those sunny holidays. There is various types of their suncare cream and lotion which come in the yellow bottle. There are some golden glow boosters for both the face and body which can be added to moisturisers to give a natural glow. The self tanners come in two forms a Gel and a Cream. There is a also a golden glow moisturiser design for the more natural glow. The exfoliating body scrub by Clarins also perfect for that pre-tan exfoliation session.
After the talks we move on to a quiz about the things that we had learnt and as expected my memory is not the best so I remember only 7 of the key facts. After the quiz we moved downstairs to the Clarins counter to make some purchases. I had a £15 voucher (as this is how you secured your place) and £5 beauty points from my Debenhams Beauty Card to spend along with a generous 10% off on the night. Happy Days!
I purchased two products both from the HydraQuench range. After trying the products out earlier in the evening I was sold on the Syrum and have been after a moisturiser so thought I would get a matching pair.
Buying two products entitled me to two raffle tickets, which is how the night ended. I won a prize in the raffle which was three full sized skincare products (Beauty Flash Balm, Gentle Refiner Cream and Cleansing Gel) as show below. We were also given a goodie bag which included a body exfoliant and a tonic shower gel. Because I made two purchase I was also entitled to a free gift with purchase which was 4 miniature skincare items (Foaming Cleanser, Beauty Flash Balm, Instant Light Perfector and Hand/Nail cream)
Overall it was a a really insightful and interesting night filled with hints and tips along with detailed explanations of the products. It was such a worthwhile event.
