Classically Chandler: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

It’s been a while since I’ve had a guest poster over here on Charlotte’s Life. Who better to kick-start the tradition again than my best friend Chandler, If you would like to see more of her you can find her over on Instagram – www.instagram.com/chaniepd)- hopefully when we get into the swing of things this might become a monthly feature.

Enough, from me. I’ll leave Chandler to give you all the details about the latest release from Benefit – The Roller-lash Mascara.

So, my name is Chandler and I’m here to talk about my new found love for Benefit Roller Lash Mascara.

Just to tell you a tiny bit about me (because everyone likes to be nosy, right?) – I’m 19 and I’m a Marketing Apprentice in Southampton. The MOST important thing about me is that I love doughnuts. That’s basically all you need to know really… 😉

But what you’re really here for is to read my review about the mascara. First of all, let me say that I am no expert of beauty reviews, nor do I claim to know everything or anything about make up… (That’s one of Charlotte’s roles in our friendship). I have basically stuck with L’Oreal mascara for the past couple of years, so branching out to try Benefit’s mascara brand was a new thing for me.

Lets talk about the price first: £19.50 for this tube of mascara – which seems a little steep. I bought mine from Debenhams, but I’m sure you can find it a little bit cheaper online. This is a huge leap from my normal spending, but so far I haven’t looked back. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the quality of this brand, and I think the price reflects that. I also don’t wear mascara every day, so I’m hoping that it will last me a long time…

The tube is cute, right? It’s one of the reasons I picked this one. Such an expert decision maker… Haha!

The brand claims to lengthen your eyelashes and give it a curl without resulting to the use of curlers. And I think they’ve got it just right! I only have to use one coat of mascara to make my eyes look far longer than they actually are, but also keeps them looking natural enough for daytime. I’ve also noticed that they don’t flake as much as some mascaras can do, which is another point in my book. I found it to come off easily enough when I go to wash it off – so no panda eyes for me!

The one thing I would say is that although it gives you length, it doesn’t give much volume. This isn’t a big issue for me, but I’d recommend giving your eyelashes two coats or use another mascara if you want more volume. Another point: this dries very fast, so you might want to be quick when applying the second coat; to avoid any flakes.

Overall, I’ve been very impressed by the brand and I have a feeling I’ll continue adding to my new collection… Have you tried this yet? Let Charlotte know what you think 🙂

Thank you so much for reading!
