My Evening Skincare Routine

Skincare is something that I have never been good at. I am often too lazy to slather loads of products onto my face before I fall asleep, but my skin was starting to show the lack of care and hydration. That’s when I stepped my skincare game up a notch and I am so glad that I did.  Take a look at my super new and improved skincare routine for the evenings:

First things first, it’s off to the bathroom for a shower where I will wash the day away and start my skincare routine with my cleanser. I am currently obsessed with the Gentle Foaming Cleanser from Clarins.  It is super easy to use and so soft on the skin but still works really hard to get all my makeup off! The formulation is perfect for sensitive skin and comes in a few different makes depending on your skin type. You only need a tiny amount to really work into the skin and it has really helped to clear up my skin as I used to do the one thing beauty Bloggers shouldn’t do – use facewipes! Told you I was lazy!

After I get out of the shower, looking somewhat like a panda because I will always leave my eye-makeup on as I find the cleanser doesn’t work too well on the eyes. I will use the Clarins Instant Eye Makeup remover. This is a LIFESAVER and HOLY GRAIL product. Any girls who are fans of Benefit’s They’re Real will know the struggle of trying to remove our Favorited product. This remover works wonders and removes all traces of eye-makeup with a few swipes of a cotton wool pad.

I then move on to Toner. This is a step that I have always been terrible at keeping up with which is why this bottle still has a lot of product left in it. The toner of choice is one by Clarins the Toning Lotion with Iris. This is a brilliant toner but I haven’t tried any others to make a comparison. A few swipes across the face with a cotton pad and you’re good to go onto your next step.

I then use a few different products as my next step, sometimes I leave these out depending on the state of my skin. I am currently loving the Witch Hazel Spot Wand which has two sides – day and night. I have been using this for a few weeks now and whilst it isn’t a miracle product I have definitely noticed a reduction in redness around the spots that I get.

Now onto the newest editions to my skincare regime – Clinique’s All About Eyes Serum. Whilst I have never really struggled with dark circles or puffy eyes, there is nothing wrong with taking care of the delicate under eye area.

The next step is Serum. A step that I would have never have considered including in my routine a few years ago as I didn’t really understand the use of them and the benefits that they provide. I have purchased the Clarins Hydra-Quench Intensive Bi-Phase Serum which contains Katafray Bark to ensure the hydration of the skin, This serum is an intensive and cooling way to help with dehydrated skin and works to replenish all layers of skin whilst leaving you with a radiant but matte finish. I have only been using it for a few days and the results are instantaneous. My skin is a lot clearer and a lot softer with less dry patches. Whilst the product is quite pricey you only need about 2 pumps to do the whole face.

After I have used my Serum, I then grab for my Hyrda-Quench Cream. This uses similar ingredients to the serum to improve the moisture and hydration of the skin. This is a super silky and lightweight cream which absorbs quickly so would be perfect for during the day before you put on your makeup.

Then I move onto a few other little bits and bobs. I will then go on to use a lip balm and lip scrub to help with the hydration of my lips. I use the Lush Bubblegum Scrub as it does the job plus it smells and tastes delicious!

The FINAL step in my skincare routine is to moisturiser my hands. I have become obsessed with the Neutrogena Intensive Concentrated Hand Cream as it is the only thing that works on my super dry and cracked hands. I will usually use this in conjunction with the Body Shop moisturising gloves to ensure that no product escapes during the night.

I would love to hear what you’re doing at the moment and what you think are your skincare saviours. Let me know in the comments below.

Until Next Time,

Laugh, Love and Shop
