Aquatic Treasures Range by Clarins *

My first ever foray into fragrance and makeup was through Clarins. I bought my first perfume from them when I was a teenager and then when I started to wear makeup at 19 they were the obvious choice as to where to start.

Fast forward a few years and I am using a ridiculous amount of Clarins products with an input into my skin care routine ( as shown here) and being my favourite foundation and powder combination. I have started to become a bit more adventurous with my Clarins products since I attended their Debenhams Beauty Event back in April.

I made a few cheeky purchases from the new Aquatic Treasures Range that night along with some skin care gems and Clarins were kind enough to send me the rest of the set. (All products gifted will be marked with *)

Aquatic Treasures

The theme of Clarins Summer release is the ocean and has a very beachy and water theme running throughout and all of this range are ideal for giving you a glowing complexion.

Now what you’re all waiting for. On to the products!

Summer Bronzing Compact – £30

This bronzer is stunning and provides me with a much subtler glow than my usual Nars Laguna bronzer would. The bronzer comes in a beautiful compact with a decent sized mirror and 4 matte shades which can be used in conjunction with each other or separately. I tend to use a quick swipe of all four to give my skin that sun-kissed look. The formula is super kind to my skin and will definitely be a staple in my beauty bag this summer.

Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base – £26 (*)

This product comes in two shades Apricot and Golden bronze and are ideal for using after your moisturiser or mixed in with your foundation.

Now these were something I was very sceptical to try as I am not someone who goes for too many base products and at first I wasn’t convinced. I put way to much product on and it wouldn’t sink into my skin but after another try it blended in quite well giving my skin a glow. Perfect for me as I am not a fan of my natural skin tone and this warms me up a bit! I will be experimenting with this product over the summer months as a standalone product.

The formulation makes this product blendable and easy to apply with a pump for easy application. I would be up for trying one of the already standing range of colours as I think they may be closer to my skin tone. Watch this space!

Ombre Iridescente Eyeshadow – £19

When I attended the Debenhams event early in the year they showcased two gorgeous cream-powder eyeshadows to add to their already existing range of Iridescent Shadows. This product has some incredible pigmentation and shimmer and with the inclusion of bamboo powder they are super  long lasting.  I just couldn’t help myself when the range was released and purchased both the Aquatic Rose and Aquatic Grey shades. I prefer these two shades to the other cream-powder eyeshadows as they have a shimmery finish rather than matte.

The Aquatic Rose is a much more workable shade and is one that I use for work every day. Aquatic Grey is perfect for in the crease to add definition or as an inclusion in your smokey eye.

Fix’ Make-Up – £22 (*)

This is a product that I have had in my makeup bag for a long time and yet still doesn’t seem to go down and I didn’t realise this was in the new Aquatic range until it arrived!

This spray is incredibly cooling on a hot day and fixes your make up in place to stop smudging by creating an invisible film over your skin to stop the elements getting to it. I use this on days when I want my makeup to look perfect all day and when I have meetings, events throughout the day and is a great pick me up throughout the day .

Waterproof Eye Liner Pencil – £17 (*)

Now I have owned Clarins Eye liners for years but always bought their brown ones as I was into extremely natural looks when I first started to venture into makeup. Now that my collection has expanded I am glad that I have had a chance to try a waterproof eye-liner from them.

This liner is jet back in appearance and I have used it for both rigid lines and smudged effect and it has stayed on all day without any fallout or smudging. I am using this as an alternative to my Benefit They’re Real for the days when I want a more natural approach.

Until Next Time,
