The Stable: A worthy rival to the chains

Last week I received an invite from the lovely Abi at The Stable for the press launch of their new restaurant in the centre of Winchester and yesterday was the big day.

The Stable is a Pizza, Pie and Cider place which has a few locations around the Country including Plymouth and Bristol . As a lover of independent Restaurants and Café’s and a lover of pizza this wasn’t an invitation I could ignore and thought it would be nice to take my Mum along to thank her for all her support of charlottelife93 and we were both thoroughly impressed and will definitely be taking the boys to have a look. My brother is excited to try out some of these unusual toppings.

First off, the location. The location is superb. A little off the beaten track, off the main high street, this is sure to become a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike. The restaurant has a more chilled vibe than your usual pizza places with its order at the bar policy and long tables (wagamama-esque). This is totally up my street.

The evening began at 5pm and we were greeted with Prosecco and we took a seat to really take in the new venue. The new site has three floors. The top floor is seating and an open plan kitchen which is brilliant as you can see what the Chefs are doing and really add to the experience. The second floor is the one you enter from the street with a bar full of cider options and plenty of seating and the ground floor is the toilets.

Throughout the night, we were treated to one of their specialities, Pizza! The pizza samples were incredible. The pizza bases are thin and crispy with plenty of flavoursome toppings. They all tasted great and some were very different to the usual. I love how the menu is the same in each location but that each is named different to fit the town. The Winchester Themed Pizza’s included: The Woolly Wintonian and the King Alfred’s Catch to name but a few.

My Favourite Pizza’s were the Margherita and the Butter-cross Clucker – a beautiful chicken and red pepper pizza.

If there Pizza’s are anything to go by I can’t wait to try out their Pies to as they sound delicious.

If you are a lover of Cider then this will be the place for you. There is a ridiculous amount of ciders to try in all different flavours and alcohol content from the bar.

This is a great addition to Winchester and I will definitely be bringing my family and friends back.

Until Next Time,

Laugh, Love and Shop

Charlotte xx
