Classically Chandler – Getting to know me

As some of you may be aware Chandler is a guest poster here on my blog and we thought it would be a good idea to get to know the person behind the elusive guest posts! so here goes:

Hello!

So, I’ve been doing some thinking and I realised that I’ve written a few guest posts for Charlotte now but it must be a bit weird for you guys because none of you really know who I am… And I don’t think I post often enough for it to be an “Oh its cool, we’ll get to know her along the way” situation, you know?

I thought I’d fix that by doing a good old Q&A post! I love reading these on blogs. For this one, I made up the questions because I figured these are the ones you might like to know… Maybe? I guess you’ll find out.

  1. So, Chandler… Isn’t that a boy’s name?

I thought I’d start with this because I’m not exaggerating when I say that lots of people I meet are pretty fascinated by my name. They’re normally pretty polite at first and don’t mention it but eventually it goes something like “So, where did your name come from anyway?” Long story short: Yes, it’s from Friends.

My parents were travelling in New Zealand during the time my mum was pregnant with me, and Friends was pretty new back then. It wasn’t even being shown in England yet! So they heard the name Chandler, learned it was a unisex name and decided they like it for a girl. (The name they chose for me if I turned out to be a boy was equally weird as Chandler but it was a cool one. I would’ve loved it!) Then about 6 months after I was born, Friends grew popular in England…

But I like to brag that I was the first “baby girl Chandler”… Since I was born before that episode when they named one of the triplets after Chandler, even though it was a girl. So I rocked that name first. 😉

And yes, I get called Bing a lot.

  1. How did you and Charlotte meet?

Some of you might already know this but I met Nelly (That’s who Charlotte is to me) at work. We were in the same team and were work BFF’s for 2 years until I moved on to pastures new… That doesn’t stop us from texting each other about our work every day now though. Same routine, just different towns!

  1. What exactly do you do with your life?

Good question. I currently work at a theatre as a Press & PR intern; a job which I’m really enjoying so far! When I’m not working I’m probably with my family, boyfriend or having lunch/shopping with my friends.

You can find me cuddled up with my dog most evenings. Sometimes I do yoga, go to the gym and drink fruit smoothies; other times I eat doughnuts like they’re going out of fashion. (I LOVE doughnuts) Yeah, I’m pretty content with my life!

  1. Speaking of fashion, what do you even know about it?

Not a lot to be fair… But I read Grazia on a weekly basis and I feel that makes me SO fashionable, am I right? Ok no, but I’m pretty much a jeans, t-shirt and ankle boots kind of girl. Sometimes I wear dresses for fancy reasons. My Pinterest boards are full of minimalist and Parisian styles, which are my absolute faves! And I wear stripes and white tops like they’re my uniform.

  1. Since you guest post for Charlotteslife93, why don’t you have your own blog?

To put it simply: I don’t have time. Which feels like a silly answer, because I really admire what Charlotte and many other bloggers do to keep theirs up to date each week. It’s a lot of effort and a juggling act with their full times jobs (and a life too!). But I’ve thought about it and I would love to have a lifestyle blog, but at the moment I know I won’t be able to update it as much as I’d like. Maybe one day I’ll be able to do it, but for now I’ll get my blogging feels out every month via Charlotte!

  1. What are your plans for next year?

I felt like this is a good one to include, especially as we’re in December!

So I’d mostly like to go on a few holidays next year – Nelly and I need to book our long overdue City Break, I’d like to do a mini break with my other bestie and I think my boyfriend and I will go on a couple of holidays next year. I love creating memories and having breaks from life, which is why I love holidays!

Sometime next year my internship will come to an end and then I’ll need to figure out my next steps. I also need to actually learn to drive and pass my driving test… And maybe I’ll start thinking about plans to move out eventually. That should be fun!

I also plan to get back into photography next year! I’ve had a bit of a break from it because sometimes when you HAVE to do photography or when you have pressure to take photos, you end up feeling like you don’t want to. It kind of takes the fun out of it… So I’ve definitely drifted away from it, but I want to get back into that.

I’m going to end this Q&A on 6 questions because I feel that there’s a lot of stuff there and 6 is a nice little number. Hopefully you got to know me a little more too… So I’m not just this weirdo that pops up every now and then to write a ramble on Charlotte’s blogs. I quite like the plans answer at the end… Do you guys have any plans ahead for 2016? Let us know!

Until Next Time,

Laugh, Love and Shop

Chandler and Charlotte xx
