Beauty Best Bits 2015

This year is  coming to an end, so I thought I would take you through a couple of my holy grail skincare and beauty items that I have loved, as I always like to see peoples end of year round ups I thought I would do my own.

Top at my list is the Label M Brightening Blonde Shampoo and ConditionerThis is a holy grail saviour product for me. For years and years, both me and my hairdresser have had issues with my extremely knotty hair. After the salon changed it’s products to a different brand we gave this shampoo a go. It keeps my highlights brighter for longer and leaves my hair in a smooth manageable state to brush. When I don’t use these I can definitely notice a different and my hair is so much harder to handle. It’s not a cheap brand at almost £15 a bottle, but my hair is in much better shape due to this stuff and I just can’t see myself going back.

A very new discovery which has very quickly become a favourite is the Charlie Locks Gentle Spritz Tonic with Neroli and Orange Blossom WaterIn the past I have been using pretty harsh toners which you apply with a cotton pad but I have fallen in love with this tonic. You can spray it directly onto your face (with your eyes closed of course!) and it is super refreshing. It smells amazing and has a positive impact on my skin.

ESPA’s Essential Cleansing Mask is my little slice of home spa heaven. I apply this all over my face once a week, usually a Sunday as a way to give my skin a little extra care. This cleansing clay mask is made with rose geranium which is known for its antiseptic properties so is perfect for spots. I love the little pots that they come in to as they look like glass and marble which adds a hint of luxury to the product.

Now that my hair is looking fancy fresh and my skin is squeaky clean, its time to get some fragrance up in here! And my new go to this year is Blackberry and Bay by Jo Malone. Blackberry and Bay is fruity and citrus-y all wrapped into one. The notes in this perfume are: Blackberry (top), Bay Leaves (Heart) and Cedar Wood (Heart). You are instantly hit with a stunning Blackberry scent and after a while a subtle Grapefruit smell starts to develop. This is a very natural smelling Cologne and doesn’t smell manufactured like some fragrances can.

Now on to the makeup I’ve been loving this year. 2015 has been the year of Charlotte Tilbury with two of her range making my best bits list. First off is the Filmstar Bronze and GlowThis is perfect to warm up my naturally pale skin tone and add definition to my face. Bronze and Glow gives a lovely glow to the skin. The highlighter is my favourite out of the two, as it is a lot darker and more blendable than some drugstore alternatives I have tried which tend to be too shimmery.

Charlotte Tilbury have also provided me with the perfect Red Lip all year with Matte Revolution in Red Carpet Red. Rose Gold Packaging, great pigmentation and colour pay off and long lasting; what’s not to love. I love the formulation of this range too because I find that some matte lipsticks can look drying or become cakey but this is nowhere to be seen with this beauty.

Another lip love this year, came towards the tail end and has been MAC RebelThis is a stunning plum – purple colour and is perfect to replace my trusty (and rather manky) Maybelline Midnight Plum lipstick. Perfect for the Autumn/Winter months; it is a long lasting, satin finish lipstick with easy application and brilliant colour pay off! What more could you want from a lipstick!

Now to my cheeks. After years of using the beloved Nars Orgasm blush, I decided to try out one of Nars‘ limited edition blushes. The one I chose was Starscape from the Christopher Kane Collection. This blush is A LOT brighter than what I am used to and is described as Neon Pink by Nars themselves. Starscape is a well pigmented and long lasting bright pink shade which can be used both subtly or built up for a more noticeable finish. I use a teenie tiny bit each day so no doubt this will last me an age.

No makeup look is complete without eyeshadow. Look no further than the Clarins – Ombre Iridescente Shadow in Aquatic Rose. This gorgeous cream to powder eyeshadow was a new addition to their already existing range of Iridescent Shadows. This product has some incredible pigmentation and shimmer and with the inclusion of bamboo powder they are super  long lasting. The shade is super wearable shade and is one that I use for work every day.

And last but not least, if you are looking for a variety of different shades on a budget, Makeup Revolution’s Salvation palette in Girls on Film is the one to reach for. If you are always reaching for nude shades this is perfect. With a mixture of mattes and shimmers it is perfect for everyday. I have even completely hit pan on the shade Shooting Star. The shadows are all super blendable and pigmented. At £6 it is a perfect edition to your makeup collection.

Well, those are my must have products of 2015. What are your favourite discoveries of 2015? Let me know in the comments below.

Until Next Time,

Laugh, Love and Shop
