What would a beauty blog be without a Lush haul every once in a while. I was kindly invited along to a Lush Southampton event recently to talk through the new Valentines Day Collection and towards the end we were given the opportunity to do some shopping! I grabbed a basket as I couldn’t resist picking up a few bits and bobs for me and my best friend (a fellow Lush lover). I picked up some old favourites and some new items to try out. I was also kindly gifted a few pieces to try out.
The first three bits I picked up were for Chandler. She messaged me excitedly when she found out I was heading to Lush and asked me to pick up a few bits. Top of her list was Unicorn Horn, one of Lush’s Valentines Day collection. This is a bubble bar which contains Lavender Oil, Neroli Oil and Ylang Ylang Oil which all help to soothe and relax whilst brighten you up at the same time! Plus you can take cool selfies with it (God knows we tried!)
Another item on her list was the Intergalactic Bath Bomb. Packed full of Peppermint and Grapefruit; the main draw with this one is feeling like your amongst the stars with it’s array of neon colours and glitter. This is such a pretty colour and it really is mesmerising to watch it do its thing!
Now, the the third item was a surprise. Anyone who knows my Best Friend will know that she LOVES Frozen! I’ve heard her sing ‘Let It Go’ more times than I’ve had hot dinners so when I spotted the aptly named Frozen Bath Bomb, I couldn’t resist picking up this beauty for her. The beautiful turquoise blue glittery coloured bomb is packed full of Grapefruit, Rose and Neroli Oils to uplift, tone and balance.
After picking up items for the bestie, I picked up a few gems for myself – nearly all bubble bars!
I had to pick up my all time favourite; the Comforter Bubble Bar! This was one of the first ever Lush products that I tried and it is still one of my faves! Easily broken into smaller chunks, it typically lasts about 3 or 4 baths with me as I stretch out the recommended half a bar to about a quarter each time! This one is made from Bergamot Oil and Cassis Absolute and has a lovely berry colour and scent! It is super relaxing and makes the water go lovely and bubbly pink!
I picked up some new tries – first off is the Rose Jam Bubbleroon! Now anyone who knows a beauty blogger will have heard of this cult classic, but I am shameful to say I have yet to try it, so I made sure that I picked one up! It is a lovely size and colour and is filled with Lemon, Rose and Geranium Oil which is super uplifting. I cannot wait to give this baby a go! I also picked up the Ladybird Bubble Bar, part of the Mothers Day Collection, as it was just too cute to leave behind. Made with Peppermint and Geranium Oil which will make you feel fresh and awake!
The final thing I purchased was a recommendation from one of my blogging friends Anna, who strongly recommended I pick up the Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream! Now I am always up for shower creams because I suck at moisturising after finishing in the tub, so I love a product that can kill two birds with one stone and I am hoping this is what Yuzu and Cocoa will be to me. Cocoa Butter and Cocoa Absolute are used to soften the skin whilst the Grapefruit and Bergamot gives it a slightly fruitier scent.
Lush also kindly gifted us a few things to try out after the event; Prince Charming* from the Valentines Collection was one. Another shower cream to add to my collection, I have no excuse to not have soft skin now. A mixture of Marshmallow and Grapefruit, is certainly not a combination I would have thought about but I am really looking forward to giving this a shot.
Another item from the Valentines range I was given to try was another edition of the famous lip scrubs! I own the Bubblegum one at home and am obsessed! So I was super pleased to see this in the bag. The Kiss Lip Scrub* smells amazing and if the others are anything to go by, does a great job at exfoliating!
And the final item is the Tisty Tosty* Limited Edition Bath Bomb. A beautiful heart shaped bath bomb, currently sold out on the website, it contains seven real Rosebuds and is filled with Lemon Oil and Jasmine/Rose Absolute. I cannot wait to give a try and see if it gets me under its spell.
A huge thank you to the lovely team at Lush Southampton, for treating us to a lovely evening and allowing us to shop shop shop!
