I’ve been obsessed with Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara for at least a year now but I recently finished my latest one and decided to try out a sample size of Roller Lash that I had stored away. I thought I would use this as my opportunity to compare the two. The blogging community have gone gagga over both of these beauties and they really are two of my favourite Mascaras. They can be used separately or together for added volume!
Benefit’s They’re Real was the first of the two to be released and promises to lengthen and volumise. The brush is perfectly designed to separate the lashes and grab them directly from the roots. I bought this in Jet Black which has a slight glossy finish to it and it has the best staying power I have ever seen and it is pretty hard to get off, I use a Clarins waterproof make-up remover however, which gets it off perfectly. It passed the Charlotte tear’s test and won’t smudge when you get a bit teary eyed watching Finding Nemo. It lasts the whole day, I only do one coat to get the effect I want, however it can be layered for a fuller effect. It is perfect for getting right in to the corners of the eye to grab even the tiniest of lashes.
Roller Lash is perfect if like me you tend to steer well clear of eyelash curlers. This Mascara is a great substitute and really helps the lashes hold a curl. It is perfect for adding volume and giving you that flirty separate lash look. Roller lash contains provitamin B5 and serin, ingredients known for their lash-conditioning benefits. The Ink Black colour has a satin finish which is slightly lighter than They’re Real which makes it slightly easier to remove at the end of the day, however I have found that it seems to smudge underneath my eyes just a tiny bit more because of this.
Both Mascara’s cost the same at £19.50, so it really is up to personal preference with this one! In terms of the way it looks on the lashes, half the time I cannot tell the difference!
