Last week, me and a few of the Southampton Blogger girls headed to Brighton to attend the #BtonBlogMeet organised by the lovely Laura from Lola and Behold. Just over 30 bloggers headed to the town to talk all things beauty, travel, blogging and vlogging amongst other things. This was my first ever meetup outside of Southampton and it was lovely to have a bit of a change of scenery.
Before the event, me and the blogging girls hit the shops. Alice directed us into a few shops I had been wanting to go into before, but have never been able to find – Sass and Belle and Oliver Bonas are THE cutest shops and we definitely need them in Southampton. After making the statutory drop off into SpaceNK we started looking for food and found a cute, quirky and cheap Italian place on Ship Street called Piccolo where we all had pizza or pasta.
After we gorged on Italian food we headed to the Brighton meetup, the whole reason for the trip.
Laura started off the event with an icebreaker to help people to get to know each other and then everyone started mingling and talking to the brands involved. There were three brands there on the day – Homage, PurePotions and Snact.
Homage is a Brighton based homewear shop based in Seven Dials. They had some really cute homewear pieces on display and some notebooks which were to die for! Homage were also kind enough to supply us with a goodie bag which I will go into in the next post.
Pure Potions is a Brighton based skincare brand that use natural ingredients to create skincare. Their products contain no perfumes and no parabens and are suitable for people prone to eczema, dry itchy skin, dermatitis and psoriasis. The lady from Pure Potions explained a little about the products and gave us some samples to try out. I also walked away with the intensive handcream after having a discussion about my dry and cracked hands.
Snact is a Company that produces fruit jerky from surplus produce. Each day a lot of perfectly good fruit and vegetables get rejected for not being the correct size or shape and the fruit jerky is made from these.
Laura also held a Raffle with all proceeds going to Grassroots Suicide Prevention Charity. I was lucky enough to get picked and walked away with a lovely Kate Spade Candle – it smells incredible and I cannot wait to burn it. We were also given a HUGE goodie bag to take away filled with food and products. There will be a separate post on this on Friday.
A HUGE thank you to Laura for hosting the event, I cannot wait to go back to Brighton soon.
Until Next Time,
Laugh, Love and Shop
