Emerald Princess #EmeraldBloggers Event

I was kindly invited aboard the Emerald Princess for a press day on Saturday with a group of the SotonBloggers. The plan of action for the day was a tour of the ship and a three course lunch in one of the ships many restaurants. Having never set foot on a Cruise Liner before I was really intrigued to see what they looked like and what was on offer.

The Emerald Princess which launched in 2007, is one of the largest cruise ships in the Princess Fleet. There are a plethora of things to do on board the ship and you definitely wouldn’t get bored – or hungry! Spread over 19 decks the Emerald Princess has Duty Free Shopping, Movies Under the Stars, Spa and Fitness Centre, Children’s Centre and Night Club to name but a few! With 4 Pools and 7 Whirlpool Spas there is plenty for the water babies amongst us to get stuck into.

Staying on board the ship seems easy – there are a variety of different sized rooms including Double’s and Suites with 1,539 guest cabins in total – which means it caters for all types of travellers. In terms of food there is plenty of it! With three main dining areas there are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafe’s to choose from as well as 24 hr room service for when you want a bit of privacy.

Take a look around with the photos that Anna and I (https://brighteyeblog.com/) took on the day:

After our tour we had a 3 course lunch in one of the main dining areas. Service was incredibly quick and pleasant and the food was very tasty. For Starter the options were Cold Smoked Salmon and Soused Crayfish Tails or Fettuccine Alfredo in a Crisp Parmesan Basket (my choice for the day). For Main, I chose Trout Armandine whilst my friends all had Chateaubriand of Beef Tenderloin. The meal was rounded off with a Milk Chocolate-Hazelnut Souffle. They even gave us Chocolate Strawberries and Biscuits to finish !

Thank you to Princess Cruises for inviting us along for a fabulous day – I am even considering a Cruise Holiday now! We will see!
