What I’ve Been Reading Lately – July

At the beginning of the year I made it my goal to read the most amount of books I have EVER read since I left my teenage job in a booksellers! Here are some of the titles I can add to the Read2017 list:

Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual – Bobbi Brown

A very quick read as a lot of images but I really enjoyed it and learned quite a few tips and tricks to enhance my makeup game. The book is extremely informative, and would be brilliant for someone who was completely new to makeup. Confirmed a lot of things I am already doing are right and gave me a few pointers to step out of my comfort zone and try something different.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Glass – Cassandra Clare

The third instalment of the TMI Series and this is a re-read for me! I wanted to remind myself of the storylines and plot points etc. In this instalment, Clary travels to the City of Glass in the hope of saving her mother, the shadowhunters and downworlders fight side by side using the alliance rune and the Shadowhunter gang encounter the mysterious and evil Sebastian. Probably one of my favourite books out of the 6 – heartbreaking but such a good read.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Fallen Angels – Cassandra Clare

The fourth instalment of the TMI Series and this is a re-read for me! In this instalment, Alec and Magnus go on holiday, Simon’s mum finds out he is a vampire whilst he tries to juggle two girlfriends and Jocelyn and Luke are wedding planning.  Probably my least favourite out of the 6 books but it is really good to see Simon as the focus point of many of the chapters for a change.
