Welcome to my very first bookish subscription unboxing! I have just recently started to order Book Club Box’s YA subscription service and in April my very first box arrived.
For anyone who doesn’t know Book Club Box is a UK Subscription service run by the wonderful Libby and Kate. Each month, avid readers get sent:
- A hotly anticipated newly released YA novel
- 4-6 handpicked and hand crafted Bookish goodies
- An invitation to their members-only online book group where you can chat to other members and to the author of that months book.
Book Club Box’s April theme was ‘Fallen Angels’ and was inspired by a few of our bookish favourite celestial beings. The boxes are beautifully packaged and the book of the month is wrapped perfectly. You can also really tell there has been a lot of thought into the items they include in the boxes too. There was two items in this months that completely stole my heart.
When you open the box, the first thing you will see is the leaflet explaining to you everything that is in the box – it is beautifully designed and gives you a brief synopsis of each item as well as gives a shout out and link shares the artists that helped create the box. You invitation is also here as well which has your name written on it which I think is a really nice touch.
Next on to the bookish goodies – The very first thing I spotted was this gorgeous Jace Herondale notebook! Now I have always and will always prefer Alec but all the Shadowhunters hold a special place in my heart including Jace Wayland-Lightwood-Morgenstern-Herondale (lol). This was designed by the amazingly talented NovaArts and I have added it to my SH march collection!
As soon as I opened the box I was greeted with an amazing smell and the two culprits where a Daughter of Smoke and Bone inspired candle from Bookish Burns and an Angel Veil Whipped Body Butter by ShimmerLuxe.
Everyone likes a bit of food and I am totally obsessed with Tunnocks Chocolate goodies so was super happy to see a TeaCake in the boxes! My faves 🙂
Stickers area always a great addition to add personality to your notebooks or bedroom and I adore this Buffy inspired sticker from Quotify. I also absolutely adored the bookmark they included in this months box which was well and truly inspired by all things angelic. This angelic feather bookmark is really sturdy and is just so cute. It was created by the ever talented Ingrained Inc.
And the final thing I opened was the book of the month for April and that was Out of the Blue by Sophie Cameron. I actually saw this in waterstones a few days ago and was really tempted to pick it up so really glad I didn’t. Cameron is a new to me Author but I cannot wait to dive in. They don’t reveal the titles each month but they do give you a great idea of what you can expect and this month they explained the novel as a diverse YA read about when celestial beings start to fall from the sky. The book is a great mix of otherworldly creatures, an LGBT love story, contemporary drama and teenage angst. I cannot wait to get stuck into this – it sounds great!
