*Meal was kindly gifted but all opinions are my own.
I never normally get in the festive spirit until December rolls around, but thanks to Chilworth Arms, the jingle bells were well and truly ringing in November this year.
I have visited Chilworth Arms on numerous occasions throughout my life as it is only around 5 mins from where I live. I even celebrated my 18th birthday there with my extended family many moons ago!
Chilworth Arms has a whole host of Christmas offerings this year and we were invited to try the classic three course menu which comes in at just under £28 per head.
On arrival, we were taken through to a cocktail making area where one of the lovely staff made us one of their festive specials. Mum and I had a Sipsmith Spiced Bramble Royale and my Dad had a Spiced Mojito! If I was allowed to drink I would have devoured a few of the Spiced Mojitos! The inclusion of ginger beer made it extra tasty!
We were then taken through to our cosy corner of the restaurant to enjoy our food! And enjoy it we did!
To start the evening we each tried a different starter! I delved into the Roasted Tomato Soup with warm Ciabatta (I can tolerate gluten in small amounts and this was too good to do without), my Mum had the Seared Scallops with Pancetta and Pea Puree and my Dad had the Smoked Salmon and King Prawn Pot. Each option was perfectly cooked and my soup was piping hot!
Next we moved on to the mains and again each decided on something different! Mum had the staple Christmas food that is Roast Turkey and Vegetables which looked so tasty, and had just the right selection of vegetables to go alongside. My Dad had the Maple Pork Belly and Pig Cheek and I had the Rump Steak and Chips.
The final course of the meal is dessert! And boy was it good! Me and Mum both opted for the Apple and Plum Crumble – one with ice cream and one without. Dad had a Caramel Creme brûlée.
By the end of the meal we were absolutely stuffed but the food was amazing and so was the service! They were really talkative, attentive and made the experience so enjoyable!
I would definitely return for a Christmas meal here again. And in fact my Dad is coming back with his work in the not so distant future.
A huge thank you to the Chilworth Arms for inviting me and extending the offer to both of my parents.
I am now well and truly feeling in the festive spirit!
Until next time,
